IMMAGINA Biotechnology has been operating since 2016 as a research-driven SME business operating in the sector of Genomics, Proteomics, and Enabling Technology.
As “The ribosome company” we develop sophisticated tools to capture ribosomes in an active state and characterize their components. Our unique technologies are first-in-class systems allowing for simultaneous measurement of newly synthesized proteins and the RNA template from which they are produced, and delivering the highest level of correlation between gene expression and the proteome. The present platform includes IP covering our technologies and is dedicated to research-use-only (RUO) products with the potential to accelerate the path toward the discovery of novel therapeutic strategies in cancer, other human diseases, and congenital disorders.

Our mission is to empower scientists to discover the mechanisms of translational control from directly within the ribosomal machine. Because the message is only part of the story.
We design technologies that enable isolation and analysis of active ribosomes and associated RNA molecules. Our solutions focus on accuracy and simplicity so that researchers can implement their own ribosome profiling and translatome studies regardless of their RNA translation expertise.
Our vision is to forge a path to increased understanding of how the ribosomal machine, translational control and the translatome impact disease pathways, ultimately yielding biomarker targets for disease therapies.
I'm interested in the translation of cutting-edge science from academia to the commercial arena. I have a pharmaceutical background and a PhD in biomolecular science carried out between the University of Trento (IT) and the University of Oxford (UK). I enjoy working in bio-business every day with my team, our advisors, and our investors.
My main hobby is playing with my two kids. I love to hike, ski and fish. During my free time I play football, it’s not just the games I love, but also the socializing that comes with them. That being said, I love time alone as well!

I received my master's degree in chemistry from the University of Padua in 2004. In 2010, I received my PhD in materials engineering from University of Trento. My research concerns the synthesis and functionalization of nanostructured materials for optical and biological applications. I have published about 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and am the author of two patents.
I love science and I am intrigued by its plethora of possible applications.

I hold a master's degree with honors in pharmaceutical biotechnology from University of Naples Federico II. Previously, I worked on the selection and characterization of RNA molecules as therapeutic, diagnostic and delivery tools. I love the daily challenges that I am presented with, making this work very interesting on a constant basis. As a biotechnologist, I believe academic results must be translated into industrial success stories.

I am a passionate and enthusiastic life science and genomics professional with more than 20 years of experience with cutting edge technology providers such as Affymetrix and NuGEN Technologies. I am a biologist and received my PhD in molecular and microbiology from the University of Düsseldorf. Advances in genomics have strongly contributed to groundbreaking insights in biological and medical sciences, and have accelerated the translation into innovation in health and applied biotechnology. It is an exciting opportunity working with Immagina Biotech on developing new technologies that might result in a much deeper understanding of the complex interplay between gene expression, translation and protein synthesis.

I received a Master of Science degree in evolutionary biology at the University of Padova and a PhD at the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia. My academic background mainly concerns evolutive biology and environmental sciences. While serving the Laboratory of Translational Architectonics at National Research Council (CNR) in Trento, I was involved in the study of gene expression and protein synthesis related to neurodegenerative diseases. I was then further involved in a series of studies related to the evaluation of eco-genotoxicity impacts. I have published more than 20 articles in relevant scientific journals.

Mr. Cogoli has over two decades of experience serving in finance and business administration for multiple companies. He is also a lean management expert and he currently supports many medium and large companies in their growth, organization or reorganization of internal processes. He has applied his lean management expertise in many projects aimed at improving the overall quality and efficacy of internal processes and enhancing companies and their business capabilities. Among his most relevant experience as manager are his appointment as Finance Manager for SEA Group and Administrative Director for Zobele Group. Mr. Cogoli is a Founding Partner at Leanevolution. He holds a Master of Science in Economics from Trento University.
Mr. Kofler serves as an advisor on the IMMAGINA strategic plan. He is the CEO of TBA (Tyrolian Business Angel), identifying and funding relevant high-technology start-ups business in the areas of biotechnology and life sciences. Mr. Kofler is also reporting to I.E.C.T. Hermann Hauser - Tirol, a private institution based in Innsbruck, Austria dedicated to helping entrepreneurs achieve permanent economic success. Mr. Koflers background is in management of innovation projects for medical application and especially within national and European public funding frameworks

Gabriella Viero holds a Master of Biology and a PhD in Biotechnology applied to Biomedical Sciences. She is interested in RNA biology, translation and motor neuron diseases. Her laboratory studies polyribosomes by nano-imaging and ribosome profiling. The lab is an interdisciplinary research team with experts in mathematics, information technology, neuropathology and cell biology. Dr. Viero's team has developed methods for studying polysomes in difficult samples and their characterization by POLSeq and RIBO-Seq. Recent combined output includes papers in top journals (J. Cell. Biol., NAR, Bioinformatics, Nat. Comm., Cell Reports, Mol. Cell).

I recently obtained my Master of Quantitative and Computational Biology degree with honors at the University of Trento. I would like to pursue a career as a bioinformatician. I am currently an intern in IMMAGINA where I have the opportunity to put to practice the knowledge and skills I acquired during my studies and also to learn novel techniques in ribosome profiling data analysis.
Five years after my first undergraduate intern experience in the lab at IMMAGINA Biotech, I am back as a master's student. I really enjoy being part of the team and learning something new everyday. The biotechnology research sector is a very dynamic and serviceable field. I’m currently studying for my Master of Computer Science degree in the United States and I hope to apply it for good.
Mr Peretti obtained a MSc. degree with honors in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Turin in 2010. After receiving a PhD degree in Clinical and Experimental Medicine from the University of Eastern Piedmont in 2014, he worked for four years at the National Institutes of Health (USA), where he carried out biomedical research in virology and collaborated with industry partners on the pre - clinica l development of a viral vaccine. Key competences and expertise : translational medicine, applied science, molecular biology and biochemistry , cell culturing and manipulation , bioinformatics, DNA sequencing ,and virology .
I completed my master's degree in natural sciences with honors in 2018 at the University of Padua. Even though my academic background was mainly focused on biodiversity and nature, the theses I have done have allowed me to become passionate about biotechnologies, particularly those applied in the plant sector. I deepened my knowledge in the biomolecular field even more by working as a researcher at the Mach Foundation in Trento, where I focused on the techniques of isolation of ribosomes in grape and Arabidopsis plants, and subsequently becoming part of the Immagina team. I really like that in this field we never stop learning.
I obtained my PhD in Translational and Molecular Medicine in a joint project between the University of Milano-Bicocca and San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan. Since then my research focused on gene therapy and molecular biology of viral infection. I am a passionate, focused and curious scientist. I love learning something new every day, and while this is my first experience in a company, I’m excited to be part of this team of young innovators!

I have started my journey as a research-oriented bioinformatician with an Internship at the ERIBA institute in Groningen, where I helped designing a pipeline for the new field of proteogenomics under prof. Victor Guryev and prof. Peter Horvatovich. I then moved to my full experience of 4 years as a bioinformatician in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease research group of prof. Dr. Rinse Weersma. There I had the opportunity to work with RNA-seq and WES from patient of the hospital. I helped with the establishment and maintenance of the 1000IBD cohort project, with a connected web portal and datasets in public repositories.
I want to work and help people in the future, that’s why I am now studying to become a clinical and biomedical laboratory technician in Barcelona (Jesuïtes El Clot). In 2018 I had the chance to work for Immagina Biotechnology; thanks to the ERASMUS + programme I improved my lab skills and learned a lot of new many techniques that will help me in my professional development
I have graduated with Honours degree in Biotechnology from University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. I am amazed by multiple regulatory mechanisms a cell employs to endure diverse conditions and fascinated with gene expression regulation, particularly at co/post transcriptional and translational level. Previously, I have studied the mechanism and various factors associated with co-transcriptional mRNA processing at 3ˈUTR. I would like to bridge my experience from basic sciences to conceptualize applied research for myriad array of challenges.
My professional passion is science research. Due to this, I am now studying to become a clinical and biomedical laboratory technician in Barcelona (Jesuïtes El Clot). In 2016 I was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to do my practical training abroad. Thanks to that, I had the opportunity to work for Immagina Biotech in collaboration with the National Research Council – Institute of Biophysics. Through this experience, I could learn many innovative research techniques that will improve my professional development.
Daniele has studied Computer Science at DISI in Trento. Although he’s new in this field, he decided to try an Internship as Computational-Biologist, which gave him an excellent opportunity to enter this biology’s wonderful branch
